This was a great Mustang generation, and this particular example features a lot to love – including V8 power, a 6-speed manual transmission, an eye-catching color, and some serious modifications for more power and improved performance.
2014 Ford Mustang GT/CS Coupe, finished in Race Red with a Charcoal Black leather interior.
This Mustang is equipped with a desirable 6-speed manual transmission.
Factory equipment on this Mustang includes the California Special and Comfort packages along with a 3.55 limited-slip rear axle. Being a GT Premium model it also came fitted with leather-trimmed sport seats with Miko Suede inserts, a Shaker audio system, a 4.2-inch LCD screen, and more as detailed below.
This Mustang has been modified with numerous performance, cooling, and handling upgrades from Ford Performance and the Boss 302 and Boss 302 Laguna Seca Mustang models. Highlights include a Ford Performance engine tune, a Ford Performance ProCal II tuner, Boss 302 Laguna Seca adjustable shocks and 19-inch wheels, Boss 302 rear springs and panhard bar, a Boss 302 side exhaust, a Ford Performance aluminum radiator, Ford Performance 4-piston Brembo brake kit, and much more. The full list of modifications can be seen below.
Introduced for the 2005 model year, the “S197” was the fifth-generation Mustang that was produced until 2014. An update in 2010 dubbed “S197 II” by Ford featured a revised exterior with a new headlight design, smaller fog lights, slimmer side mirrors, a “powerdome” hood, LED taillights, a restyled Mustang emblem, and improved interior trim. A black panel between the taillight cluster was added in 2013.
The GT variant was also updated in late 2010 with a larger and more powerful “Coyote” V8 engine, a heavier duty transmission, and suspension enhancements. The 2013 model year saw additional changes including an 8 horsepower bump in output, a GT500-style front fascia, LED fog lights, a vented hood, and blacked-out taillights.
According to GTCSregistry.com, a total of 3,114 Mustang GT/CS coupes were built for the 2014 model year, and this GT/CS is 1 of 459 that were painted in Race Red.
Power comes from a 5.0-liter “Coyote” V8, which produces 420 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque in stock form. The Ford Performance tune on this Mustang is rated at roughly 436 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, but no dyno sheet was provided to confirm. The engine spins the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.
