The Terminator Cobra is one of my all-time favorite Ford Mustang models, as it offered massive power for the price – and for the time period, as few cars made 390 horses back in 2004. This example looks nice, and it has some good things going for it – including relatively low mileage, an eye-catching color, a manual transmission, and some fantastic modifications that further enhance the driving experience.
2004 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra Convertible, finished in Screaming Yellow with a black leather interior.
This SVT Cobra is one of 167 convertibles produced in this color for the 2004 model year.
The car has some modifications, including a lowered suspension, an exhaust with no catalytic converters, an ECU tune, an aftermarket intake, carbon fiber interior trim, and an aftermarket shift knob.
The SVT Cobra was built on the facelifted “New Edge” version of the SN95-generation Mustang. It featured an independent rear suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels, special bodywork, and bolstered seats, in addition to the blown version of Ford’s 4.6-liter V8. Of the total production run, just 167 were Screaming Yellow convertibles, according to Ford’s archives department. It was also the final SN-95 Mustang to be built in Ford’s plant in Dearborn, Michigan.
Power comes from a supercharged 4.6-liter V8, which produces 390 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission.
