A lot of people insist they want a simple, basic pickup truck for simple, basic needs – if that’s you, well, here’s your chance. This is a very special one: a Tacoma that features three big benefits: 4-wheel drive, a manual transmission, and just 33,500 miles from new. This truck also has a new frame thanks to Toyota’s frame recall, which adds peace of mind.
2008 Toyota Tacoma Regular Cab 4×4, finished in Indigo Ink Pearl with a Graphite cloth interior.
This Tacoma features a desirable 5-speed manual transmission, and its digital odometer shows approximately 33,500 miles.
This Tacoma received a new frame at a Toyota dealership in March 2018 due to a factory recall. An invoice for the work can be seen in the photo gallery.
Factory equipment on this Tacoma includes 16-inch steel wheels, cloth upholstery, an AM/FM/CD stereo, air conditioning, and more as detailed below. Modifications are limited to the installation of an OEM front skid plate and aftermarket trailer hitch.
Introduced in 2005, the second-generation Tacoma was larger than its compact predecessor and featured more powerful engine options, a rust and dent resistant composite bed, and a variety of cab and bed configurations. The regular cab models, like this truck, were typically base models intended for workhorse duty that have become a favorite of overlanders and 4×4 enthusiasts who appreciate their short wheelbase, reliability, and relatively lightweight chassis.
Power comes from a 2.7-liter inline-4, which produces 159 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. The engine spins the rear or all 4 wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission and 2-speed transfer case.
