• Factory equipment includes the Power and Light Package, the Convenience Package, 16-inch wheels, a locking rear differential, cloth upholstery, power windows and locks, power-adjustable mirrors, air conditioning, and more as detailed below.
• This Express was finished by long-time RV outfitter Sportsmobile. A partial list of modifications include a pop-top roof with sleeping loft, sink, refrigerator, microwave, cassette toilet, outdoor shower, and a flat-screen TV.
• Chevrolet released the Express for 1996 to replace the Van, which had joined the line-up in the 1970s. New from the ground up, the Express benefitted from numerous improvements including a more spacious interior achieved by moving the front wheels forward by about 10 inches; this reduced the amount of space taken up by the engine in the cabin. The Express has received several updates since its launch, and it’s astonishingly still part of the Chevrolet range in 2022.
• Power comes from a 6.0-liter V8, rated at 323 horsepower and 373 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission.
